Social Media

Part of what I did with the Alaska Department of Health was develop social media campaigns. Many of these, like encouraging flu shots, were annual while others like opioids and STDs were ongoing.

One of my coworkers suggested getting a flu shot as part of a person’s or family’s winterizing process. Getting out the skates and skis, winter coats and sweaters. Snow tires, oil changes, and seasonal flu shots all happen at the same time every year so winterize and immunize.

During the pandemic, getting a flu shot was important for an additional reason, keeping much-needed beds open for COVID patients.

This outreach for opioid and overdose awareness included social media, interior bus signs, and a rear bus wrap (not pictured).

When recreational marijuana was legalized in Alaska, we produced this PSA to clarify what that meant and promote safe consumption.
